Peter Shearer

Candidate for Ward 2

Peter Shearer is 76 and a resident of Old Bridge since 1985. He retired from his own business at 72.  He considers himself to be from “Main Street”.  “I had to get things done.  My product was on time, at price, and working.”

Peter is a lifelong small “d” democrat. He believes democracy is more than a word – it

provides accountability of our leaders.  

“The study of economics is the study of who benefits from what.  The USA has a majority of people who do not have $500 for a $1000 emergency car repair.”

Peter believes that the Republican leaders in OB have prioritized Trumpism over the citizens of Old Bridge. He has seen the Republican leaders of Old Bridge attempt to use OB assets to benefit Trumpism. 

With a Democratic majority on the town council, Peter believes we can stop Trumpism and return Old Bridge to the people. 

“By myself I can only do little.  Together, we may really make OB a better place to live.”
